The food is good, the service was meh... only stopped by once to take the stack of plates and refill drinks. For the money I will be just making the drive to Golden Corral. $1 cheaper on adult dinner buffet and $2 cheaper on kids and a WAAAAAY bigger selection!!!

I have not been to a Ponderosa for about 20 years and why did I go now? Who knows! Steak - overcooked big time when I asked for medium, potato - yuch, it must've been one of last years! The vegetable of course was overcooked as well. Methinksnottogoagain to Ponderosa - yuch!!!!

Was a little nervous to eat here after seeing such poor reviews, but realized that the last review was a year old. So I was brave, and very happy that I was! I went at about 5:30pm on a Tuesday and it wasn't very busy. I think there may have been a dozen people there at the time. I hadn't been to a Ponderosa in many years, so the menu is not a typical "all you can eat" buffet. You can order an entree, the buffet, or the entree plus buffet. If you order the buffet with the entree it's only $5. I got the sirloin and grilled chicken combo entree along with the buffet. The chicken was moist and flavorful and the sirloin was seasoned and cooked perfectly (medium well for me)!! The variety of the buffet items wasn't the greatest, but the quality was very good. The salad bar could have used a few more veggie options for my liking, but definitely not the worst salad bar I have seen. The chicken wings were amazing, and the ribs were very good. In my opinion, this buffet is secondary to the steak entrees. I don't think that I would go here for the buffet alone, but it's a great add on to the entrees. I will definitely be going back!! The manager Bill ( I think) who was working the floor and grill along with Holly (our server) were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful!

I guess it serves me right for not coming here first. I think that in my 38 years of being on this planet, I've found the worst restaurant I've ever been to. First of all, $12.99 for *just* the buffet that consists of basically a salad section, small soup area, small dessert area and 2 tiny buffet bars? Are you insane? The food that was available was seriously overcooked and only a few items tasted decent. The dessert section looked like it had been hit by a tornado with all of the ice cream toppings mixed together and at least 30 ice cream cones laying on the ground. You're way better off going to Fire Mountain or Golden Corral where you have a large variety of buffet bars and can still get a steak. The place was filthy. Absolutely filthy. We sat in the back section and 80% of the tables were covered in old plates that were never picked up. The rest looked like they had not seen a bottle of Windex (or at least a soapy rag) in a few weeks. You could see sticky food residue all over the tables. We were lucky to find one table that was actually clean. On a personal note, my husband had wanted both chicken and steak with his meal. He didn't realize that combo was on the menu until after our food had arrived. He asked would it be possible to add on a steak because he had missed it the first time? Sure, for the full cost of a steak and another buffet. Really? Any other place would have just charged him $5 or so which still would have been more profit than if he had just purchased the chicken & steak combo 15 minutes earlier. Very poor customer service. I would not wish this place on my worst enemy. Ponderosa should be embarrassed that this place exists.

A quote from my husband: "their food was nothing sort of atrocious." We have been to several Ponderosa's out of state and while it is by no means gourmet, there is some sort of standard. This location? No standard whatsoever. All of the food was saltless, tasteless or old. There was no meatloaf, which is a staple of this chain. Plenty of dessert options... But all were left out all day and was hard or stale by the time we got there for dinner. Overall, everything was disappointing. The only cool thing was a game room, filled with arcade games and skeeball. We won't be back!

One word - CESSPOOL. As a special day in my homeroom class, I borrowed a big van from a family member and was ready to take my girls out to lunch. I allowed them to pick the place, and they opted for here (they're a fan of the buffet set up - pregnant girls like to eat!). Many of them had been to the 8 mile location in Warren, but we chose to go to this one instead since it is closer to the school. I, personally, have not been to a Ponderosa since my age was in the single digits. But I swear it could not have been that bad back then. The whole place is disgusting. The tables are dirty. The food on the buffet is warm if it's supposed to be cold and cold if it's supposed to be hot. Noodles were mushy and overcooked....chicken was unseasoned...the ranch dressing was thick as mayonaise....some items on the buffet were unidentifiable by sight, and since nothing is labelled, just remained a mystery. The clientele was made up of the elderly and/or super obese. The used plates sat uncleared from tables for up to 15 minutes at a time. Even my girls remarked that much of the food was not proper temperature and did not taste very good. To high schoolers whose idea of a delicious lunch is ramen noodles or a hot pocket, to have them complain is a lot. They still chowed down like it was the last meal of their life, but as I said - preggos like to eat. The cherry on top of this abominable situation happened when I went, mid meal, to the rest room. I had to hold my breath - it looked and smelled like it had not been cleaned in weeks. As I was finishing washing my hands, an older woman came in, went into the stall, and immediately ripped the loudest, juiciest fart I've ever heard. As if I wasn't even in the room! No regard for my presence. Would it have killed her to hold her ass cannon quiet for 10 seconds until I left? I realize that a restuarant can't control the behavior of its customers and therefore shoudln't be judged on it. But holy shit. Literally. Never. Ever. Ever. Again.
